Professional Sound Engineering

‘A sound engineer, also called an audio engineer, audio technician, audio technologist or sound technician, is a specialist in a skilled trade that deals with the use of machinery and equipment for the capturing and processing, recording, mixing and reproduction of sounds.  Sound engineering concerns the creative and practical aspects of sounds and music.’ Hellfire’s sound engineers have successfully run with some of the most varied and challenging sound and music events in South Africa and abroad. Hellfire’s engineering skill and experience spans most genres of music and arts including Philharmonic Orchestra’s, Theatre Productions, Local and International Bands as well as current and specific knowledge of electronic music production and DJ requirements. Hellfire provides specialised crew for the Sound Design, Installation and System Engineering for music clubs, concert halls and venues of all shapes and sizes to more complex and large scale events such as festivals, International concerts, Theatre productions and Corporate events.

Professional Lighting Design

‘The role of the lighting designer (or LD) within theatre is to work with the director, choreographer, set designer, costume designer, and sound designer to create the lighting, atmosphere, and time of day for the production in response to the text, while keeping in mind issues of visibility, safety, and cost. The LD also works closely with the stage manager or show control programming. Outside of stage lighting the job of a Lighting Designer can be much more diverse and they can be found working on rock and pop tours, corporate launches, art installations and on massive celebration spectaculars, for example the Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies.’ At Hellfire we are proud to offer the services of highly sought after Lighting designers who have a unique creative talent and technical skill. With our 3D design software we are able to design and plot the show beforehand to the exact requirements of the event. Whether it be a small party, a wedding, Fashion show, product launch or a full scale theatre or rock concert, Hellfire is certain to bring the on cue technical expertise and an exceptional visual enhancement to your event.

Music Tours and Road Shows

Hellfire is able to go on the road with your production, your band or road show, transporting all the necessary equipment as well as arranging for the required equipment to be supplied in each province of the country. Besides producing a great sound and visual for each show, the technical crew will ensure that, from city to city, each event is on time with all technical aspects efficiently and consistently managed. The engineers, designers and crew at Hellfire have accumulated a great deal of experience working on music events and festivals having travelled extensively in South Africa and Internationally. Some of the local artists we have worked closely with over the years include Simphiwe Dana, Freshlyground, Die Antwoord, Arno Carstens, Springbok Nude Girls, Boo!, Zebra and Giraffe, Locnville, Just Jinjer, Mac Stanley, EJ Von Lyrik and many others.

International Shows

Due to Hellfire’s many years of experience working with live music production and their commitment to meeting celebrity artists very specific technical requirements, they are often chosen to supply the show equipment, as well as handle all aspects of the technical production for international performances. Hellfire is particularly geared to handle intimate international shows in South Africa due to its high end selection of equipment and resources at its disposal. Hellfire is dedicated to meeting the artists requirements, as well as, the audiences high expectations for a international profile event. Some artists Hellfire has handled the technical production for in the past few years include; The Wailers, Massive Attack, Easy Star All Stars, Eagle Eye Cherry, Rodriguez, NOFX, Underoath, Public Enemy, Balkan Beat Box, Finley Quaye, Jose Gonzales, and many more.. Hellfire has provided System and Sound Engineering for events such as The Cape Town International Jazz Festival, Womad, 46664, The Robbie Williams Tour, Snoop Dogg Tour, Ramfest, Rocking the Daisies, The Standard Bank International Jazz Festival and many more…

Event Consulting and Management

In depth preparation for an event is paramount for its success. There is no second chance at getting the event right. At Hellfire Productions we are able to assist with the general planning and pre production of an event from the preliminary budget phase through to the technical coordination of the actual event. We can arrange all aspects of the technical production from the staging, sound and lighting, through to the structures, crowd control, fencing and power. We can ensure the successful running of all the technical aspects of the event as well as the seamless coordination of technical suppliers allocation of budget through our Project Management services. Our Production Management and Stage Management services will ensure that all aspects of the technical production such as entertainment, presentation, production schedule, the artists and crew are successfully handled. At Hellfire we’ve helped hundreds of event coordinators, wedding planners, band managers and corporate event organisers plan their events to the tee and very successfully realise their vision.

Audio Visual Installations, Sales & Rental, Maintenance & Repair

Music venues, Restaurants, Bars, Clubs, Schools and any venue that requires public address, music playback, live sound, lighting or visuals (screens, projectors, LCD’s, etc) needs reliable, high quality equipment appropriate to the application that has been installed properly. Existing systems also require service, maintenance and upgrading. Hellfire is able to offer the services of selling or renting the AV equipment as well as the installation and maintenance. We are able to provide long term rental solutions and service contracts for your venue as well as afterhours technical support. Our technicians are passionate about maintaining a high quality service that makes use of professional, reliable equipment, while paying attention to detail and being dedicated to getting things right the first time.
